Abstract

Women entrepreneurship is not just a concept it is a strategy for women development along with the family, society and nation. They are home-managers and they effectively manage their families by balancing wants and available resources to achieve maximum satisfaction. At present, mostly women are also employed. Subsequently, they perform dual-roles as home-makers and breadwinners. Therefore, the need of effective family management is unavoidable. The objectives of the present study are to determine the factors affecting family management from women entrepreneurship perspective and to explain the effect of women entrepreneurship upon family management. It is a review based study. For the purpose, data was collected through bibliographic database. The studies related to the aspects of women entrepreneurship, family management and labour force participation were critically analysed. It was revealed that changed role of women and their employability are the significant factors affecting family management from women entrepreneurship dimension. Further, the effectsof women entrepreneurship upon family management can be observed upon family income and expenditure pattern; attitude towards market-non market work; power and division of labour; and effect upon children. Hence, it was revealed that women entrepreneurship has a significant effect on family management.
