FOREIGN PROVIDERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Education is an essential foundation for personal, social & economic success in the globalised economy. But how can developing countries can offer enough education particularly quality higher education to their citizens to enable them to play a full part increasing & enjoying such success? Internationalisation of higher education has important constituents in terms of the supply of education services by foreign education providers. Given the excess demand of higher education has an important constituents in the terms of the supply of education services by education in India, the foreign education providers guided by market signals, began their operations. However these market signals were not supported by government regulation. As a result the provision of education services by foreign universities was limited and remained mostly confined to initiative by private institution in India. It is an important question, what is environment of market and regulation. This paper highlights the modes of foreign education in India and its advantages, disadvantages and challenges ahead to Indian government to regulate the foreign education in India .
