Abstract
This study focuses on the level of job satisfaction and job stress of employees working in banks. The idea presented in the paper is the role of job satisfaction in influencing Job stress. Data was collected from 101 respondents of SBI Bank- Uttarakhand. Statistical tools were used to analyze the data. Findings suggest that the Job satisfaction is quiet passable in public sector banks due to no fear of low job security, good salary and timings of workings. Future research with varied sample size covering public as well private sector banks could be directed and similar study should be conducted in other regions of the country. There is a scarcity of empirical studies on job stress in banking sector. An attempt has been made to fill this gap by this study of Job stress among employees of public sector banks.
