Abstract

Social and cultural identities have come up as very common words so much so that not only specialists, but also the administrators, politicians, social workers and common people. Thailand has a culture which is a combination of various local rituals from different parts of the country. It is related to Buddhist values and oriental trends like in many parts of Asia. In one hand, Thailand offers Siamese culture but on the other societal values have on Thailand tend to be collectivist. Literature in Thailand depicts Indian Hindu culture related to the Ramayan and the poetry of Southern Phu.
