The handicrafts sector plays an important role in Indian economy. It imparts to the substantial foreign exchange earnings and high level of employment generation. India has an extremely rich craft tradition, distinguished by great aesthetics and multifarious art history. Handicrafts can be defined simply as objects made by the skill of the hand and which carry a part of creator as well as centuries of evolutionary tradition .Handicrafts bring a great sense of grace to every home be it the poor hut or the opulent star hotel.There is timeless quality in these craft objects, for they have evolved over centuries and continue to be made even today with the same sentiment. But the handicrafts artisans are facing several problems.
