Abstract

Banking sector is probably the most data intensive sector in the global economy. The impact of big data on the sector is easy to comprehend. Banks have enormous amount of customer data like customer profile data collected for KYC, deposit or withdrawal data, data pertaining to transactions done at ATMs/ CDMs/ recyclers, data of purchase at point of sales and payments done online or through various apps etc. However, banking sector lacks in making good use of these rich data sets.
