INVESTIGATION OF STUDY HABITS OF GIFTED AND CREATIVE STUDENTS

Abstract

This study intended to explore the study habit of gifted and creative students belonging to arts and science stream. The sample of the study selected through simple random sampling technique. The sample comprised of 400 students in Meerut and Ghaziabad district of Meerut Commissionary. Gifted students were selected by Group test of intelligence by G. C. Ahuja. Baquer Mehndi test was conducted to find out the creative students. The study habits of the students were measured by Study Habit inventory of B. V. Patel. Survey method of research was used. Certain statistical techniques like mean, SD, T-test were used. The result indicates that the total study habits, home environment and planning of work, preparation for examination, general habits of attitudes, reading and note taking, planning of subject were good in gifted arts students. This study is useful for the future of the students. Study habit serve as the vehicle of learning and efficient study habits of students play a significant role in promoting the academic performance in the examination.
