IMPACT OF COVID-19 CONFINEMENT IN GRADUATE STUDENTS' PERFORMANCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The times have shown the closure of educational institutions which thereby increased the significance of online learning system. The present research aims at examining the impact of COVID-19 confinement in the graduate students' performance in higher education. A survey research design was taken on for this study. This research work was carried out in Hassan District, Karnataka. There are a total numbers of 62 colleges in the area of study. Collected data from teachers and students in the area of study. A structured questionnaire was used for obtaining information for the study. Simple random technique were used to select the sample size. The data collected were analyzed using appropriate statistical tools. Results collected revealed that respondents strongly agreed that COVID-19 colleges close down would affect the academic programme of higher education, suspension of all extra curriculum activities, teaching and learning gap created as a result of the COVID-19 college close down.
