Abstract

The growing phenomenon of globalization, liberalization and privatizationhas been immensely influencing the Commerce Education. Alvin Toffler inhis famous book “Future Shock” says that, “To help avert future shock, wemust create a super industrial educational system and to do this, we mustsearch for our objectives, methods in the future rather than past. Educationmust shift into future tense.” The Higher Education sector in India is very vast. The role of Higher Education in national development is wellestablished. The objectives of Higher Education can be achieved onlythrough qualitative change in the system. The output of CommerceEducation should be multidimensional and with full global competitiveness.But we have to realize that the Commerce graduate have lack of practicalknowledge. The practical oriented Commerce Education is a need of theage. Commerce education is business education. Commerce education is that area ofeducation which develops the required knowledge, skills and attitudes for the handling ofTrade, Commerce and Industry. The recent commerce education has emerged in the formof Chartered Accountant, Cost and works accountant, Company secretary and Businessadministrator. Commerce education is a totally different from other disciplines. Hence, itmust charter new routes to service the aspirations of the nation.
