COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS OF TRADITIONAL VILLAGE ECONOMY OF ZIRO VALLEY, INDIA

Abstract

Ziro valley has seven traditional villages apart from the extended modern villages with the rapid growth of population. The economic activities of traditional villages are mostly confined to the paddy-cum-fish culture. The empirical analyses of all primary and secondary occupations of the surveyed families are carried out in order to analyse the various economic activities of households with 250 samples are randomly collected from seven traditional villages. The different occupations such as agriculture, horticulture, fishery, business, regular government servant, wage earner etc. are among the farmers in these traditional villages. The objective of this study is to find out the viable option of the farmers who are practicing various economic activities for their livelihood in traditional villages of Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh.
