LIVING CONDITIONS AND HEALTH STATUS OF SLUM DWELLERS IN MEERUT CITY

Abstract

The present study is an attempt to explore the living conditions and health status of the slum dwellers in Tejgarhi area of Meerut City. For the purpose of the study 50 households were selected as sample size. The data have been collected through interview schedule Technique. The study reveals that the slum dwellers of Tejgarhi area have no housing facilities as well as no bathroom, toilet, drinking water, drainage and electricity facilities. Therefore in the absence of basic amenities the living condition of slum dwellers is very pathetic. Lack of sanitation has also observed in the study area. Therefore the slum dwellers are suffering from different diseases and living their life with moderate health status.
