SOCIO-CULTURAL ISSUES & IMPACTS ON DROPOUTS IN THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL OF EDUCATION: THE ETHNOGRAPHIC STUDIES AND ITS ANTHROPOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE

Abstract

The role of School in the social environment appears to be one of the important predictors of student attendance and academic calendar and social performance. This article clarifies the factors that contribute the increasing drop-out rate of the children in the society. A few of the studies in their context have been done on girl’s drop-out come based on particular regions and cultures allover India. This study aims to develop a comprehensive framework of social environment determinants of student drop-outs in secondary school. We provide a few recommendations which policy planners may adopt in reducing drop-out from schools.
