INDIA’S AND ASEAN RELATIONSHIP IMPACT ON EXPORT AND IMPORT

Abstract

VASUDEV KUTUMBKAM is a traditional thought of India. . In the present era only those countries are successful which have closer relationship with other countries. There are close relationship among India and ASEAN since the independence of India. India started expanding its influence in the Southeast Asian region during the 1950s by supporting the Indonesian struggle for independence and involving itself in the Indochina crisis in the 1960s. Relationship of India-ASEAN stepped up a notch towards the end of 1990s and the beginning of 2000. In 1998, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee the then Indian Prime Minister intended to accelerate India’s Look East Policy. In the synergies between India’s economy and that of the ASEAN countries and is keen to strengthen its economic ties with them. During 2001-02 to 2009-10 and as well as import also growth near about six time from 2001-02 to 2009-10. From 2001-02 to 2008-09 there are continuously increasing in growth of Export and Import but in 2009-10 it down. The cause for downing the growth of export and import in 2009-10 was Global Recession. Global recession not only affects the ASEAN and India but it affects the Export and Import of whole World.
