Health insurance industry is rapidly growing among various industries in insurance sector. More than 48.20 crore lives covered under any health insurance scheme. Currently 58 insurance companies are offering health insurance products in India. Apart from these Government play a very energetic role to cover Indian population under health insurance schemes. Health insurance industry has shown more than 20% progress every year from 2015 ahead. The objectives of the present study are to examine the growth in health insurance industry. Under this study four standalone health insurance companies were selected for the period of five years from 2013-2014 to 2017-2018. More than 50% population is uninsured hence health insurance sector has much chances to increase the market share for the health insurance providers. Standalone health insurance companies have shown more than 40% growth in the past two years. The standalone health insurance companies have very low claim ratio as compared to all other insurance companies in this sector. Standalone insurance companies should more focus on to the improvement of claim ratio and innovative products to attract more customers.
