Abstract

This paper analyses the beta of 18 companies which consist of 6 industries namely, Automobiles; Banks; Computers; Finance; Pharmaceuticals; Refineries. Impact of industry type on beta has been calculated by ANOVA. Homogenity of variance is found to be significant and checked by levene’s statistics. It is found that industry type significantly affects beta of a company. Post hoc analysis provides where the significant difference in means of the beta of industry exists, graphically represented by Means plots.
