In recent past, the symposium about sustainability in respect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been accelerated above average. The contentions of this paper is regarding the motivations for and character of contributions for sustainable growth through the medium of CSR in a business. Both of these topics are not only important for cramming or reading purposes but also needs execution in corporate sector. It introduces us with the evolving connotation and gives a view on the subject of “why there has been a recent boost in CSR with reference to the advancing socialization of markets as outcome of constricted market drivers, along with other societal, governmental and globalization drivers”. It can also be clarified whether CSR can synonymously be used with Sustainable Development or not. A skeleton has been provided defining the connection between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development to ease the policy –makers in further research, to adding to the expansion of innovative methodologies and instruments towards the carrying out of SD / CSR strategies into corporation. Objective of the Study Over the last decades, sustainability has become very popular in modern economics. All terms such as CSR, Corporate Citizenship, Corporate Sustainability or Social Responsibility seem to go in the same direction. The prime objective is to find out where the focus in the sustainability discussion is and how the terms SD and CSR are defined.
