THE STRUCTURAL TRANSFORMATION OF RURAL HOUSEHOLD

Abstract

Villages are connected with global network today. Not only the wave of change is entering into the villages, but also villagers are welcoming the change. The wave of change is transforming the structure of rural households. Size of the family, authority, role of women and recreational mechanism are transforming. Education is enhancing the dignity of a family and female literacy has multidimensional views. Modern gadgets are part of rural life today. The interest of villagers to know the external affairs is increasing. This study is conducted in eight selected villages of Ramanagara district of Karnataka state located in southern part of India.
