Abstract

Tourism in India is growing with leaps and bonds. It is so because of rich heritage of tourists’ destinations both natural and manmade. The demand for tourism is ever growing in India. Since tourists’ turnover is growing, various issues are coming on surface. For example issues related to cleanliness, waste management, etc. Since the problem is vast in nature, it is bit unmanageable to the governmental machinery. In such event, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) may be proved to be effective if utilized properly. Present article tries to highlight the benefit of NGOs in making the tourist destinations a sustainable one.
