FARMER’S PERCEPTION TOWARDS AGRICULTURAL CREDIT PROVIDED BY DISTRICT CO-OPERATIVE BANK

Abstract

Agriculture has the major stake to support the Indian economy. The farmers are the mainstay of agriculture and the need of finance is primary to initiate the farming. An attempt has been made to study the farmer’s perception towards agricultural credit provided by district Co-operative bank in Raipur city of Chhattisgarh. A survey through questionnaire was conducted in 100 farmers including small scale, medium scale and large scale farmers who took financial assistance from district Co-operative Bank, Raipur. The questionnaire was segregated in three parts including problem faced by farmers for receiving agricultural finance, second part including statement of loan process of bank and third part regarding perception of agricultural loan scheme. Analyzing by percentage, mean and SD it was found that untimely credit disbursement, no confirm time for loan sanction and accessibility of loan schemes to right people are some of the perceptions studied on the part of farmers seeking for loan in District Co-operative Bank, Raipur City. Mean Values, Percentage and Standard Values are calculated.
