FACTORS INFLUENCING UTILIZATION OF SHALLOW TUBE-WELL PUMP SETS IN RABI PADDY CULTIVATION: A CASE STUDY OF MORIGAON DISTRICT

Abstract

Rabi Paddy cultivation becomes a common agricultural activity in all the district of Assam. It is because most of the district of Assam affected by flood during summer season and the paddy cultivation in Kharif season are less productive. Hence, the paper trying to determine the factors that influence utilization of ground water in Rabi Paddy Cultivation. The paper based on primary data that collected during the first of 2014. By applying regression model it was found that profitability and productivity in Rabi Paddy is very high than the kharif paddy. For which people become more attractive to Rabi Paddy cultivation.
