What is our mistake? “We are also human beings. We are like all others. We are not irresponsible. We are educated, have wife and children and earning. Men getting attracted towards young girls during their youth are accepted by the society. When we look at women we do not get any inspiration but when we see another man we start liking him and our life is with him only. We get a feeling that if he is with us we can achieve anything. Why like this….we do not know. The scientific research done to know this has failed. Even though it is not our mistake and we are not harming anyone, we are facing tremendous discrimination worldwide. We are criminals according to IPC 377. Under this section we can also be punished with life time imprisonment for having unnatural sex. Why so much opposition? Homosexuality was proved during the time of Vatsayan. Sexual sculptures of men and women were carved on walls of temples…..after that why they are treated as sin? Why they are seen as doing business in dark? At least now the reason for coming out and speaking is HIV/AIDS. If not for this perhaps this context would not have arisen even today. Is it for good or bad till will decide? We are firm in one thing. Today we came out openly to be able to live and there should not be any harm/loss because of us and with a hope that people understand us. The desire to live along with you as citizens is making us speak like this today.”
