Abstract

Neurolinguistic programming (NLP) is a communication framework aimed at bringing changes in thinking and behaviour by the method of analysing verbal and nonverbal language. The present study aimed at finding changes in the stress perceptions and overall wellbeing in patients with stress related illness. A total of 60 clients were randomly assigned to experimental group and control group. The outcome was assessed by Perceived Stress Scale and Overall Well Being Scale. The experimental and control group received pre post and follow up assessment to find the overall changes in the respective areas. The result showed that there is significant change in the therapy group when compared to the control group in terms of stress perception and overall wellbeing. The therapeutic change observed in the post treatment assessment was still continued in the follow-up session. The study concluded with the finding that Neuroligusitc programming is an effective treatment method for stress reduction and also to bring about overall well being of the individual.
