Abstract

Humans by nature cannot sit idle and like to be occupied in some activity or other. Even while watching TV, a person can be said to be engaged in activity. An activity can be defined as any kind of occupation a sentient human being engaged. It can be constructive or destructive according to the types of activity being performed. Physical activity reduces stress, strengthens the heart and lung, increases energy level, helps to maintain and achieve a healthy body weight and importantly improves one’s outlook on life. Physical activities denote the use of human body and energy while performing different action. The human body fantastically designed for physical activity and man has achieved tremendous progress in the field of sports by utilizing this quality. Walking, running, jogging, jumping, puling, pushing, lifting and throwing are some of the action that everyone is familiar with. Physical activity is a serious threat to human health and well being. Now-a-days, technology has advanced so much that we get everything with least physical exertion, thus making our lifestyle sedentary. A lifestyle which promotes least physical activity becomes a cause of various health related problem like high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, coronary artery diseases and more and planned, structured physical activities and exercise can be minimise this kind of health disorders.
