Abstract

The Marwar painting has been the true expression of that popular feeling which absorbs the cultural and political changes together with the outward influences. It gives a new meaning and vision to the painting tradition of the painters of this region through its experience in accordance with 'Shastria' norms and standards in the field of subject, style and technique. Its creative process is purely original and is attached to the 'Shastria' tradition. The affluence of Marwar style can only be seen in the court style of Jodhpur. Besides this, its ever growing influence is also perceivable in some part of Jaisalmer, Nagour, Ghanerao and Ajmer.
