Abstract

This paper examines trends in income poverty in Jharkhand and Bihar during the periods of 2004-05 to 2011-12 with the use of poverty estimates of Planning Commission of India based on the National Sample Survey (NSS) 61st (2004-05) and 68th (2011-12) rounds and state-level official publications.
