Abstract

In this paper, symbol error rate (SER) performance analysis and optimal power allocation and equal power allocation are providedfor uncoded cooperative communications in wireless networks with amplify and forward (AF) cooperation systems with QPSK signals, in which source and relay send information to destination. Equal power strategy is good in AF cooperation systems, but in general not optimal in cooperative communications. Channel link quality depended by optimal power allocation. Optimal power allocation depends only on relays through channel links, doesn’t depend on source to destination channels. We compare the performance of the cooperation systems with either optimal power or equal power AF protocol. It is shown that the performance of a systems with optimal power allocation is better than equal power allocation in case of AF cooperative system. Extensive simulation results are provided to validate the theoretical analysis.
