TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT: PROBLEMS AND POSSIBILITIES (WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO CHHATTISGARH PTG “KAMAR”)

Abstract

Development is not a plan for better present but also learning from previous results for a better tomorrow and that is not only for humans but also for the environment and our coming generation. According to census 2011 population of Chhattisgarh is 2,55,45,198 which is 2.11% of country’s total population. Here are total 31 tribal groups in Chhattisgarh which have five primitive tribal groups as abujhmariya, Hill korwa, Kamar, Birhor and Baiga. There is a myth among Kamar’s that they originated from Bastar and total distribution around Raipur District.
