Abstract

Abstract India is the highest producer of milk in the world, but the average milk production per cow is the very low when compared to the world average itself. The production per cow in India has to be increased for the dairy industry to flourish in this country, For this adoption of scientific dairy management technologies is essential. Since most of the marginal and small scale owners of this country are women, it is high time we enlighten them on the various technical and scientific aspects of dairy industry. A simple technique is to transfer technology through Master trainers Women self help groups who themselves are members and ‘aides’. But to augment the efficiency of this channel new and innovative teaching tools are required. The current study is such an approach to analyse the efficiency of certain teaching tools in increasing the adoption rate of scientific dairy technologies among WSHG. Four groups were selected and in three groups the teaching tools were tested where as the fourth group act as the control group in which only lecture method was used. The results revealed that the adoption rate was much more in all the three experimental groups than the control group emphasising the efficiency of the tools in increasing the adoption level. The study revealed that these tools are effective in technology transfer and can be exploited by the WSHG members in their training sessions.
