Abstract

Diaspora is never homogeneous as it takes the form of migration over multiple times and spaces. Mahatma Gandhi is one of the most iconic figures of the Indian diaspora. He constructed a notion of India through his stay in South Africa. Gandhi was a cosmopolitan figure. Gandhi’s political philosophy was born in and was defined, practiced and perfected in South Africa.
