Abstract

To uphold democracy, Panchayats play a vital role in India. It has brought a lot of changes in the way a village is managed. These Gaon Panchayats manage the developmental activities of the village and ensure peoples’ participation in it. It also works for the development of women folk. This paper tried to find out the status of Gaon panchayat as a nucleus of rural management system. Peoples’ involvement and contentment in the rural development activities and schemes were observed through the study.
