“I want people to recognise me as a promising women farmer in near future”- says by Mrs Jintu Moni Devi of Mohkina Gaon, Majuli. She lost her husband during the Covid -19 pandemic. Now she is the only breadwinner of her family. She has been engaged in Mustard cultivation since ages like many others as the entire river island ‘Majuli’ is famous for mustard cultivation for its fertile sandy loam soil suitable for this crop.
