Abstract

Multilingual/bilingual states bring several complexities in the establishment of English teaching standards. Manipur in northeastern India recognizes two official languages of the state- English and Meitei/Manipuri. However, the region's linguistic composition is highly multifaceted in nature, and even though English language education has been imparted since primary, there is limited scope to enhance the communicative skill of learners.
