Abstract

The discourses on political nationalism gets enormously enriched by the inclusion of ethnic-primordial dimension into it and the sole credit for this goes to one of the most widely discussed authors on nationalism, namely, Anthony Smith. Refuting nationalism to be a mere ideological invention, Smith goes back to delve into the ethnic origins of nations and comes up with an unprecedented primordialist theory of nationalism.
