Abstract

This research paper focuses on understanding why health inequities continue to persist in contemporary Indian society, with a special focus on rural areas in the country. It seeks to explain the reasons for theses health inequities, mostly focusing on the inequities related to healthcare and access to health. Along with this, the paper also aims to lay emphasis on the various methods that are proven to work when it comes to ensuring equity in rural areas. Finally, this paper attempts to provide suggestions and recommendations that can be taken up by various stakeholders to ensure rural health equity in the country.
