Abstract

Long-term historical and cultural assessments that reveal a variety of distinctions in the metaphors and meanings that signal health have formed the foundation of sociology of health. Several studies have underlined the importance of cultural fabric in providing coherence and depth to concepts, as well as how beliefs, cultures and traditions come to define the body in disease and well-being.
