Abstract

The research paper deals with the megalopolis city of Calcutta as a cinematic space for the film Do BighaJameen that depicts rural exodus to the city and how the city of calcutta has represented through the cinematic lens. Rural populace have an enchantment about city life and they assumed it as a dream place to fulfill their needs and how they cope up with the city life which presentsbefore them as a puzzle. We would also explore that, Does city fulfills their needs or turns their dreams into nightmares.
