SEQUENTIAL CHANGES IN SELF-CONFIDENECE, SOMATIC AND COGNITIVE ANXIETY AMONG INDIAN TRACK AND FIELD ATHELETES

Abstract

The present study was conducted to compare the pre competition Sequential changes in self confidence, somatic and cognitive anxiety among 30 male athletes from Track and Field, participated in All India intervarsity championship were selected as subjects for the study. The age of the students ranged from 18 to 24 years .The questionnaire used was consist of short form of CSAI-2 by (Cox ,Russel and Robb) for measuring somatic and cognitive anxiety, while the self confidence was measured with 9 items of CSAI-2 by (Maretens, vealey and Burton) corresponding to self confidence.
