Abstract

Sanskrit katha literature is a treasure chest of fascinating stories of all sorts. Many, if not most, are still waiting for proper transcription to bring them out of education records and into the hands of today's interested readers. These literatures are treasure trove for the cultural study of the then time. From the aspects of the kinds of mindset that was promoted or existed back then to the kind of narrative styles that were employed are explicitly detailed. This particular paper deliberates on the portrayal of women characters in Shuka Sapthathi and to study that history of Sanskrit Literature including Kathasaritsgara is analysed.
