Abstract

Postpartum Depression is a mood disorder associated with childbirth, symptoms of which may include extreme sadness, low energy, anxiety, crying episodes, irritability, and changes in patterns of sleeping and eating (Paulson, 2010). In India, the estimated prevalence of postpartum depression ranges between 19% and 22% (Lanjewar et al., 2021). With the added burden of childcare, the relationship between the partners is often compromised. A supportive relationship with the husband can help mitigate the stresses of being a new mother (Leahy et al., 2011).
