PERSONALITY DIMENSIONS OF THE FEMALE WUSHU PLAYERS BELONGING TO SELECTED WEIGHT CATEGORIES

Abstract

The objectives of the study were (1) to compare among the selected weight categories in regard to personality dimensions of female Wushu players of Delhi, (2) to explain the personality dimension profile of the Wushu players of Delhi according to their weight categories. For the purpose of the study Eysenck’s Personality Questionnaire was administered on the subjects, age ranging from 17 to 23 years. The administered questionnaire was quantified for obtaining the scores of selected personality dimensions namely Extroversion-Introversion, Neuroticism, Psychoticism and Social Desirability (lie score) as per the instructions/ guidelines given in the concerned manual. Mean, Standard Deviation and ANOVA were used as statistical procedure for analyzing the data. The drawn hypothesis was tested at 0.05 level of significance. Findings of the study reveals that the personality dimension scores of Wushu players belonging to different weight categories were significantly different.
