Abstract

Print media has been chosen to look at the coverage of various issues associated with women empowerment in India since media plays a major role in the society. It holds a key place in developing India. Hence the focus of this research works on the representation of various indicators of women empowerment in the Indian media. Women related issues are of utmost importance in India because the nation cannot develop by ignoring women of the country. Therefore, media organisations must attempt to uplift the status of women. India may be a male-dominated society and its different values, mindsets, ethnicities and customs. Media being a robust channel of communication can greatly contribute in influencing and shaping the beliefs and viewpoints associated with women. It’s their responsibility to first examine the long-term implications of their efforts being made to make social order in the society so take necessary actions on that.
