Abstract

Total health expenditure has gradually become a major source of concern. It is not only the increasing health expenditure that is evident in developing countries, but also the unequal growth in the overall economy. If higher life expectancy is used as a leverage for an individual's investment in health services, it is reasonable to predict that as life expectancy rises, so will the tendency to invest in health care.
