Abstract

Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the youngest religion in the world, Sikhism, taught to the world a new way of life. Characterized by absence of dogmas and rituals, Guru Nanak Dev Ji spread the concept of “Ek Onkar” meaning one God through his teachings. He believed in oneness of mankind. He denounced caste system, introduced the concept of “sangat and pangat” and followed the middle path to attain the Almighty. His teachings are enoromous and my paper deals with the relevance and requirement of Guru’s teachings in today’s scenario and how essential is it to follow the path taught by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
