Abstract

Honey means the natural sweet substance produced by honey bees from the nectar of blossoms or from secretions of plants which honey bees collect, transform store in honey combs for ripening. Honey is among the most popular and widely used sweetener with enormous health benefits. It is used by several cultures around the world serving as a base for many traditional medicines, especially in Ayurveda. Therefore, the uses of honey are increasing with changing life style and increasing health consciousness in the people all over the world. This paper empirically indentifies the utilization patterns of honey and marketing channels for disposal of honey in the study area.
