RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EXAMINATION ANXIETY AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AMONG HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENTS

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between examination anxiety and academic achievement of higher secondary students of Lakhimpur District of Assam. The respondents comprised of 810 students (408 boys and 402 girls) were selected randomly from thirty-five schools.Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI) developed by Spielberger (1980) and marks of previous year result was used for data collection. The result shows that there was a significant correlation between test anxiety and academic achievement amongoverall higher secondary student. Further, there wasa considerable correlation between examination anxiety and academic achievement of boys and also girls.
