QUALITY CONCERNS IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The quest for quality has been the characteristic of entire history of human civilization. It has been the driving force behind all human efforts. Quality being an enigmatic concept and having complexity to define and measure is tied to an interrelationship between stated goals and actual practices. Although the idea of quality is very subjective phenomena yet it has helped ultimately all the stakeholders to retain, maintain and sustain the defined standards and perform for excellence in the field of higher education particularly. What is required at this stage is a collaborative endeavor of all the stakeholders to address the quality concerns in higher education. The present paper shall explore the various concerns pertaining to quality in higher education and its plausible solutions as well, as it is indeed imperative to ascertain whether the basic objectives will be achieved by quality assurance mechanism for higher education in the country.
