Abstract

The article reveals the trafficking of women and children in Karnataka. Urban areas are becoming hot spot of Trafficking, trafficking most affecting in poor women and children of villages and even vulnerable women and children are attracting to urban jobs and people trap into the trafficking by false promises. All hegemonic narratives understand trafficking to be an epiphenomenon of unbalanced migration. It is necessary to analyze bottom-up strategies used by different organizations for the empowerment of women and facilities of children to identify approaches that are most effective.
