This research paper analyses the Covid 19 pandemic's impact on the automobile industry's attrition process. Due to the lockdown, travel was deeply curtailed, and factories were closed worldwide, leading to slumping car sales and resulting in shortage of raw material, delay in the availability of models, and deferred launches and poor consumer demand. These scenarios have sparked a global recession, which leads to involuntary attrition. The study was conducted in the city of Chennai, and its suburbs involving leading car manufacturing companies. Sample size 50 was taken by random sampling method. The data was collected through a structured questionnaire, analysed using the statistical tool SPSS. The hypothesis was tested using correlation and regression analysis. This paper helps understand the impact of lockdown on livelihood, business, and employment in the automobile industry.
