Abstract

the post 9/11 American politics has undergone drastic change defining the criteria for “looking Muslim” by introducing fear on Islam and Islamic Culture. Dave Egger’s Zeitoun is a creative nonfiction which draws attention towards the issue of growing islamophobia in the West by delineating the life of a Muslim immigrant, Mr. Abdulrahman Zeitoun and his non-Muslim wife Kathy. The family is exposed to various tragic events that range from natural to state induced one. Being a Muslim makes Abdulrahman to face these catastrophes in a very way while comparing with his fellow non-Muslim victims.
