Abstract

The power of social media is rising day by day in daily life of people.. In the field of health care also its usage is increasing every day by the stakeholders be it patients or providers. Patients of all age groups are found to be using social media for health care support. However, their frequency of use, social media platforms adopted and purpose for use may be different from each other. In the present paper an effort is made to study the use of the social- media by generation Z patients as compared to other older patients. A pilot study of 207 patients was conducted in India, out of which 149 patients were found to be using social networks for health information and support.
